Three Cheers exclusively trains our own developed course which we’ve named SASH (Special Alcohol Service Hospitality).
SASH consists of proactive, not reactive, patron management techniques for licensed venues to put in place during service. It has been developed and shown to work in a variety of venues since 2009.
SASH is informed by world-leading research evidence from the fields of psychology, physiology and alcohol and other drug (AOD) research. It has its own unique theory which translates practically to standardised best approaches to common scenarios that arise in licensed venues.
The training can be delivered in classroom format or online. For best results, we recommend a combination of the two i.e. the online course followed by an onsite workshop, or at least a staff meeting presentation. This is then followed by some simple in-service exercises to help the venue get started with implementation.
Following the training, Three Cheers stays in correspondence with the venue management over the first couple of weeks to offer any necessary guidance or assistance. In addition, it’s recommended a SASH trainer visit the venue a few times whilst it’s in operation, so as to make observations on how well the staff is implementing SASH and to offer any additional training that may be required.
The total process of putting the course training into a venue is called the SASH Three Cheers Program (TCP). The TCP has been refined over the years to make it easy and effective for venues to undertake, even in peak season.
